Kilimania Adventure is a Tanzanian-owned operator based in Moshi. Every enquiry is read by our local team — not a call centre abroad — and questions about routes, dates or logistics are answered by people who guide the mountain themselves.

Our Moshi-based team reviews your dates, group size and trip requirements, and puts together options that fit what you’ve asked for.
You’ll receive a clear, itemised itinerary and price. We’re happy to answer follow-up questions before you decide anything.
Booking a Kilimanjaro climb with Kilimania takes a $100 deposit, and you pay the balance in Moshi the day before you start walking. If your plans change, cancelling 7 or more days before the climb gets 60% of what you’ve paid back. Here are the terms in full, so there are no surprises later.
A $100 deposit reserves your climb. It is part of the total climb price, not an extra fee. Deposits are paid by bank transfer; we send the account details with your confirmed quote.
The remaining balance is paid in Moshi the day before your climb starts, in cash (USD) or by bank transfer. Cash is preferred, because international bank charges are high on both sides.
Cancel 7 or more days before your climb starts and we refund 60% of the amount you have paid. Cancellations less than 7 days before the start date are not refunded.
| When you cancel | Refund | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| 7 or more days before the climb starts | 60% of the amount paid | Tell us in writing by email or WhatsApp |
| Less than 7 days before the climb starts | No refund | Claim through your travel insurance, if covered |
Protect your booking: because late cancellations can’t be refunded, we recommend travel insurance that covers trip cancellation as well as high-altitude evacuation. Providers many climbers use include World Nomads and IMG Global — check that the policy covers trekking up to 6,000 m.
These terms apply to Kilimanjaro climbs. Safari, Zanzibar and day-trip terms are confirmed in writing with your quote. For a full breakdown of what a climb price includes, see our Kilimanjaro cost guide.
Not sure whether Lemosho or Machame suits your fitness level and dates? Tell us your timeframe and we’ll recommend a route based on what our guides actually see on the mountain.
Every quote we send is itemised — park fees, crew, meals and equipment are listed, not bundled into one number you can’t check.
From solo climbers to larger private groups, we build the itinerary around your pace, dates and any dietary or accommodation needs you tell us about. Solo travelers can also join a scheduled group departure.
Every climb is led by KINAPA-licensed guides. Read about our senior guide Sabinus Msimba →

Across our own climbing records, the 9-day Northern Circuit has the highest Uhuru Peak success rate (96% of 215 climbers) and the 6-day Marangu the lowest (67% of 256). We publish these figures so you can ask us about them before you choose a route — not as a promise of your result.
| Route | Itinerary | Reached Uhuru Peak | Climbers in dataset | Data updated |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Northern Circuit | 9 days | 96% | 215 | August 2026 |
| Machame | 7 days | 92% | 418 | January 2026 |
| Lemosho | 7 days | 88% | 156 | January 2026 |
| Rongai | 6–7 days | 85% | 112 | January 2026 |
| Lemosho | 8 days | 82% | 384 | August 2026 |
| Machame | 6 days | 82% | 97 | January 2026 |
| Shira | 7–8 days | 80% | 74 | January 2026 |
| Umbwe | 5–6 days | 79% | 14* | 2019–2025 |
| Marangu | 6 days | 67% | 256 | August 2026 |
* Umbwe’s sample is small (14 climbers), so read that figure with more caution than the routes with larger datasets.
How we calculate it: a climb counts as successful only when the climber reaches Uhuru Peak (5,895 m). Anyone who turns around before Uhuru Peak — including at Stella Point — counts as unsuccessful, whatever the reason. Figures are grouped by the planned route and itinerary length recorded for each climb.
What it is not: these are Kilimania Adventure’s internal records, not official statistics from TANAPA or KINAPA, and not an industry-wide rate. Acclimatization, weather, health, fitness and pacing all vary, so a past success rate is not a guarantee of your own summit. For route-by-route analysis, see Kilimanjaro success rate by route.
