What we do with critical feedback

The twelve excerpts above are a selection, and they are all positive. They are not the whole picture: Trustindex’s copy of our Google profile lists 35 five-star reviews and one 1-star review, and Tripadvisor lists every review left there. Read both profiles in full.

We reply on the platform. Trustindex records that we reply to 71% of our Google reviews, usually within a day. If something went wrong on your trip, tell us directly on WhatsApp +255 756 449 990 and we will respond.

Tripadvisor excerpts were checked against the live profile on 14 October 2026; Google excerpts against Trustindex’s copy of our Google reviews. Ratings and counts can change, so the original profiles are the current source. Each review describes one group’s trip on one date and is not a promise about yours.

Patterns across reviews

What Guests Mention Most

Tripadvisor automatically surfaces phrases that recur across guest write-ups of our company. These are the platform’s own “popular mentions”, listed as shown on 14 October 2026.

  • safari package
  • great migration
  • serengeti national park
  • climbed mount kilimanjaro
  • total confidence
  • hiking guide
  • wildlife viewing
  • machame route
  • pre climb
  • lake manyara
  • exceeded expectations
  • uhuru peak
  • game drives
  • every step of the way
  • logistics

Reading the excerpts above, the recurring subjects are guide knowledge, the mountain crew, quick replies before booking, and the way safari and climb legs are coordinated between Moshi and Arusha. The Tripadvisor profile lists every review, and you should read those we did not quote too.

Before you book anyone

How to Judge Any Operator

Star ratings for Moshi operators cluster near 5.0, so the number alone tells you little. These checks work on us and on any other company.

  1. Check the dates. Look for reviews from the last 12 months and from the season you plan to climb. Crews, guides and management change.
  2. Find your route. A review of a 5-day climb says little about an 8-day one. Search for your route and group size.
  3. Look for specifics. Named guides, camp names, how acclimatization was handled and how problems were solved are harder to invent than “great trip”.
  4. Read the lowest ratings first. How an operator responds to a complaint is more revealing than its praise.
  5. Compare what the price includes. Park fees, crew wages, oxygen and pulse-oximeter checks explain most price gaps. See 12 questions to ask a Kilimanjaro operator and our note on porter treatment.
  6. Test communication. Send a specific question before paying. Feedback that mentions fast, honest replies are worth checking against your own experience.
How we work

Local Knowledge. Personal Service. Thoughtful Planning.

Based in Moshi

Our team lives and works in the Kilimanjaro Region and organises climbs and safaris from our own base rather than through a reseller.

Routes matched to acclimatization

We help match route and days to your fitness and timeframe, because extra days at altitude are the biggest factor in how a climb feels. A summit is never guaranteed.

Direct communication

You talk to the people who will brief your trek. Ask about dates, routes, inclusions and budgets before you commit.

Clear inclusions

Itineraries state what is included and excluded, so the quotation you receive is the amount you plan around.

Crew welfare

We review porter loads, meals, sleeping arrangements and pay regularly. Read the details on our porter welfare page.

Safaris and day trips too

Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire, Lake Manyara and Arusha National Park, plus day trips from Moshi. Wildlife is never guaranteed; early departures and route timing improve your chances.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a legitimate operator?

Yes. We are a Tanzanian operator based at Moshi Kiboriloni, near Msaranga Primary School, reachable on a published phone number and email, with review profiles on Google and Tripadvisor you can check yourself. Sabinus Msimba’s mountain guide licence is available as a PDF, and the company is a TATO member.

How many reviews do you have?

On 14 October 2026 Tripadvisor showed 34 reviews with a 5.0 rating, and Google showed 36 reviews with a 4.9 rating as mirrored by Trustindex. These are separate platforms and the counts must not be added together. Trustindex’s 36 reviews are our Google reviews, so they are counted once.

Where can I read guest feedback?

You can read them on our Google Business Profile and our Tripadvisor profile. Both are independent platforms, and we cannot edit or remove what guests write there.

How can I check a review is genuine?

Open the review on the platform where it was published. Each one shows the reviewer’s public name, rating and date, and you can see their other contributions. Comparing the same operator across Google and Tripadvisor adds a second check.

Does Kilimania Adventure run private climbs and joining departures?

Yes, both. You can book a private climb on your own dates or join a scheduled group departure on the joining calendar. Routes run from 5 to 10 days; see all Kilimanjaro routes.

Can I ask questions before booking?

Yes. Message the Moshi team on WhatsApp at +255 756 449 990 or email info@kilimania.co.tz with your dates, group size and the routes you are considering. You will receive itinerary options and a quotation, with replies within 12 hours, seven days a week (EAT).

What should I consider when choosing a Kilimanjaro operator?

Compare route length, what the price includes and excludes, how altitude sickness is monitored, crew welfare, and how quickly the operator answers before you pay. Check the date and specifics of each review, not only the star rating. Our guide How to choose a Kilimanjaro operator lists twelve questions to ask.

Can I book a safari or a day trip with Kilimania Adventure?

Yes. We run multi-day safaris to Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire, Lake Manyara and Arusha National Park, plus single-day trips from Moshi and Arusha and airport transfers. See Tanzania safaris and Tanzania day trips.

How do I leave a review after my trip?

Use the Google review link or the Tripadvisor profile. Both are open to anyone who travelled with us, whether the feedback is positive or critical, and we never offer anything in exchange for a review.

Does a good rating promise a summit or a sighting?

No. A review describes one group’s experience on one date. Weather, altitude and wildlife are never guaranteed, so treat reviews as evidence of how a team works, not a promise about your own trip.

Planning Your Kilimanjaro Climb or Tanzania Safari?

Every journey starts with good information. Tell us your preferred dates, group size and travel plans, and our Moshi-based team will help you compare routes, camps and itineraries, then send a clear quotation. Karibu.
